REGIONAL MARKETING INITIATIVE OF THE BAYERISCHER UNTERMAIN REGION

The municipalities, chambers, public partners and companies are in traditional close collaboration on the level of the region Bayerischer Untermain. All of them are aware of the outstanding significance of the regional cooperation inside of a Europe of the Regions and have been practicing it already for nearly 15 years now.

    REGIONAL MARKETING INITIATIVE OF THE BAYERISCHER UNTERMAIN REGION

    The initiative Bayerischer Untermain is a working group for regional marketing and regional management. The responsible bodies are the administrative districts of Miltenberg and Aschaffenburg, the independent city of Aschaffenburg, the Aschaffenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Unterfranken Chamber of Handicrafts and the government of Unterfranken.

    The INITIATIVE has assumed the following tasks to be performed for the region:

    • Marketing of the location for the economic region
    • Image publicity for "Bayern in Rhein-Main" (Bavaria in the Rhine-Main region)
    • Coordination & organisation of the regional cooperation

    CENTRE FOR TECHNOLOGY, COMPANY START-UPS AND COOPERATION GMBH (ZENTEC)

    The centre for technology, company start-ups and cooperation GmbH (ZENTEC) in Großwallstadt acts as intermediary of economy, science and policy with the object of strengthening the competitiveness of the companies in the region and to encourage innovative people to start up businesses. The cooperation with the chambers and sponsoring institutions is a decisive prerequisite for this aim.

    COLLEGE FOR HIGHER EDUCATION FOR APPLIED SCIENCES ASCHAFFENBURG

    The college of Aschaffenburg was founded in the year of 1995 and thus is a very young educational institution. Currently, eleven courses of studies can be chosen in the Engineering sciences and Science and Law faculties. The college of applied sciences with its 2,100 students is an integral part of the educational offers of the city of Aschaffenburg and the region Bayerischer Untermain. The college has been considerably intensifying the local transfer from science to practice since its foundation.
